Opening Day:

The opening Day of Baseball started out lookinglike only the Parade would make it.  Teams from all the divisions lined up across from the Getty station on Tonawanda street and proceeded to the park.  It was a long and fun walk for all the kids.  Once there we heard from several dignitaries including Antoine Thompson, Joe Golombek and Maria Whyte.  Senator Thompson donated a check for $2000 and announced a grant of over $125,000 dollars for fixing the fields while Joe Golombek presented a check for $2500.

The games also managed to all get played even with some minor rain delays.  Thanks to all thaT helped make opening day a great success. The Babe Ruth division had 3 games and the Nuchereno Attorny Yankees, Denis Evchich Diamondbacks and Papi's Restaurant Tigers were all successfull in their opening day games, while only the Fowler's Chocolate White Sox game was decided as they beat the CSAT Reds while the other game ended in a tie game in the final inning.  The Ponytails Jr Joe's Pizza Mets and Maria Whyte Blue Jays also won their opening day games while the Ponytail sr WNY Properties Contractor Mets won theirs.

In the lower divisions the Maria Whyte Yankees beat the Joe Golombek Mets in the Minors while the Black Rock Beverage Astros and Lorenzo International Phillies won in the grasshoppers and all the T-Ball teams were winners.

In all everyone had a great time and what looked to be a rain filled opening day turned into a fun filled day instead.  We hope to see everyone in the park to watch our games in the future.
